About us
Mission Statement:
Bridging the information gap to empower the neurodiverse community with knowledge, understanding, and a place to belong.
Our Story
The story of Ausome Media began with a lifelong friendship. Walford and Jose have been friends since the fourth grade, and it was this deep-rooted trust that made it easy for them to have open and honest conversations. As a father to two wonderful autistic children, Jose navigated the early stages of his family’s unique journey alongside his wife, Diana, a dedicated first-grade teacher and proud “Ausome Mommy.” In doing so, they became a trusted resource for others in their circle. Among those seeking guidance was Walford, who was eager to find ways to best help his nephew.
It was during these heartfelt conversations that the spark ignited. The co-founders realized that their combined experiences—Jose’s personal journey as an “Ausome Dad” and his professional background in business and IT; Walford’s personal connection as an uncle and his professional expertise in marketing; and Diana’s unique blend of maternal passion and two decades of experience as a teacher—formed the perfect foundation to help others.
That’s when the idea was born: a project to blend their personal passions with their professional expertise to create a website—and from there, a media company—dedicated to the autism community.
This mission brought together three individuals, each with a profound personal connection and a unique professional skill set.
- Jose, with two decades of experience in IT and business administration, saw a clear opportunity. He was a problem-solver who knew he could leverage the power of technology to build a centralized, valuable hub of information and connection. This website is the result of his vision to blend his professional skills with his personal passion for empowering families.
- Diana, driven by her maternal passion and teaching expertise, committed herself to being the heart of this community. Her two decades of experience in the classroom, combined with her firsthand knowledge of navigating the system for her own children, makes her a vital force for advocating for acceptance and providing science-based education.
- Walford, with two decades of expertise in digital content marketing, understood that a valuable resource is only as good as its ability to reach the people who need it. His mission is to connect the website’s core values with contemporary culture to effectively reach a diverse and growing audience.
Ausome Media is not just a website; it is the culmination of their combined journeys, their shared empathy, and their complementary skills. It is born from the desire to create the resource they wish they had: a place where families can find clarity, guidance, and a true sense of belonging. Their mission is to provide an enriching and supportive space, built from a personal commitment to the betterment of the neurodiverse community. They invite you to join them in this shared mission, one story, one resource, and one connection at a time.
Meet the Team
Hi, I’m Jose and I’m the proud father of two amazing autistic children. My wife, Diana, and I quickly realized after their diagnoses that early intervention was key, and our experiences as a family have truly shaped me into the “Ausome Daddy” I am today. These invaluable learning moments sparked a profound dedication within me to support other families on their autism journey.
For over two decades, I’ve built a career in IT and business administration, tackling complex problems and improving operations across a wide range of industries including warehousing, logistics, supply chain, e-commerce, startups, and pharmaceuticals. I’ve always been driven by the desire to not only optimize business functions, but also to provide robust support for employees in challenging environments.
Through my interactions with other parents of newly or previously diagnosed autistic children—whether at work or in my community—I often found myself becoming a go-to resource. Because I was approachable yet held a senior position, parents felt comfortable asking me for guidance. This is where I quickly saw a big gap; while I could often find answers, many parents struggled to access the information they desperately needed or simply sought another person for advice. This realization ignited a powerful vision.
Now, I’m channeling my professional skill set and personal passion to create this website. My goal is to leverage technology to build a comprehensive and supportive hub for the autism community, empowering families with the knowledge, resources, and connections they need to thrive. With the invaluable help of my wife, Diana (an amazing teacher) and my best friend, Walford (the marketing genius), Ausome Media was born
Hello! My name is Diana Pinto and I am the Ausome Mommy! I am a 43 year old mom of 2 wonderful and loving kiddos named Angelo and Isabel. They were both diagnosed with autism and ADHD when they were 3 and have been killing the ABA therapy game ever since! I am the proud wife of Jose, the Ausome Daddy and we have a super sweet life here in NJ!
By trade, I am a general education first grade teacher and have been in my current position for 20 years, but have been learning so much about special education, advocacy and IEPs since we have had our children. Being a teacher is so rewarding and shows me that I can make the difference in the lives of tiny humans daily. Even the rough days at school or home are still creating something positive in our lives!
I live life as an optimist and always try to be smiling and joyful. The day may not always be perfect, but I try to choose one positive thing that happened in the day and focus on that! Finding the good is definitely important to me!
On this ausome journey, I am looking forward to educating and helping other families advocate and navigate their personal journeys through acceptance. I hope to empower people to accept and educate themselves while sprinkling in science-based education throughout the way! Be your ausome self and you will achieve great things!
